The Jawahar Nagar Co-Operative Housing Society Limited (JNCHSLTD) is registered under the Office of the deputy Registrar of Co-Op. Societies, Northen Division, Surat. Dated 5th September 1947, Surat, Bombay State (Now Gujarat) under the section 10 of The Bombay Act VII of 1925. And its Registration Number is B-323 of 1947. The Current registered address is 27, Sardar Patel Bhavan, Jawahar Nagar, S.V. Road, Goregaon (West), Mumbai-400104.
The Jawahar Nagar Co-Operative Housing Society Limited is currently one of the oldest housing society of Mumbai (then Bombay). It was established in 1947 by Shri Ummedbhai Patel & Shri Chhotubhai Patel. Shri Chhotubhai N. Patel was also the first Chairman of the Society’s 1st managing committee And Shri M.N.Gersoppa was the first Secretary of the Society’s 1st managing committee. The 1st female member of the managing committee was Smt. Suvarnalata N. Desai and the 1st female Secretary of the managing committee is presently Smt. Niruben M. Patel.
The Jawahar Nagar Co-Operative Housing Society Limited celebrated its Golden Jubilee in the year 1997 under the Chairmanship of Shri K.G.Desai and Secretary Shri Dahyabhai B. Patel. A 5gm Gold coin was distributed to the members as a gift of remembrance on this special occasion. And with emerging new age ideas the society is now marching forward towards its centenary.
